project title: "space and time"

is to be experienced: as two videos on separate screens as displayed on process picture

idea:the idea came from the interest in critiquing excess consumerism by highlighting the automatic and almost paralyzed state we tend to be in when consuming, whether it is food, clothes or things. the video contrasts an old speech by Jimmy Carter on consumerism with YouTube videos of influencers doing so-called "hauls". an effect of constant exposure to other people's lives and decisions is that we are no longer autonomous beings but we are in some way always influenced by popular opinion. the fact that we don't see the immediate consequences of our consumption, which is excused by entitlement, we are taking our planet for granted because the consequences don't affect us just yet.
